POP BALLAD
"I chose this track by Seal to highlight the smooth, velvety quality to my voice that is often present when I sing ballads. I saw the complex multi layered harmonies as a way of demonstrating my strong aural perception and you can hear my voice overlaid more than 12 times to create this lush harmonic soundscape."
DANCE
"This Britney Spears song was to showcase my ability to sing in an uptempo, funky dance style. I wanted to demonstrate my ability to create a more girlish, frivolous tone and sing very high vocal and harmony lines."
SOUL
"This is a popular function and party song choice originally by Randy Crawford and The Crusaders and has a difficult melody line. I chose it to illustrate the power at the top end of my voice and present a more contemporary sound."
CARPENTERS SONG
"I am often told that the timbre, tone and pitch of my voice is similar to that of the late Karen Carpenter of the 70s supergroup The Carpenters. With this constant feedback, I thought I would directly impersonate her in one of her classic ballads."
ROCK
"I selected this Avril Lavigne song to demonstrate my voice at a higher tessitura than normal, power in the higher register and a more spikey texture. It also allowed me to present my ability to overlay complex harmony lines and backing vocals again."
CLASSICAL ARIA
"I trained originally as a classical singer and so I wanted to record Cherubino's aria from Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro to reveal a completely different voice and technique that I posess. It is a vivid contrast to the contemporary sound I normally use and here I am singing the octave above what I would sing in my natural voice!
